The Post Review Follow-up:

  • 2/11/13 – I’ve heard some comments that the plastic disc in the battery cap may prevent venting. I need to check this tonight. If that’s the case, it’s an automatic thumbs down. Good thing this is a review/pre-production unit.
  • 2/11/13 – I’ve heard the estimated price on the kit will be around $70.
  • 2/11/13 – From Innokin -SVD stands for Super Vapor Device
  • 2/11/13 – Battery designation in the video was described as “18 mm x 65.0 mm.  It’s actually 18mm x 65mm and the “0” indicates the shape, in this case cylindrical.  Thanks for the comments everyone!  This old dog loves learning new tricks!!  🙂
  • 2/11/13 – More from Innokin.  They are listening!!

Here is information that I collected , the production version will make below improves
1) both + – buttons ,lock avoid by accidently adjust when hand around SVD
2) make tube edge more smooth
3) reduce inner telescopic tube threads , so screw down more easy.
4) make bottom cap (-)vent do passthrough air
5) update and avoid electronic bug
6) I think we will add another bottom cap to screw directly , so 3 options for consumers
Small Telescopic Tube (18350/18500)
Big Telescopic Tube (18500/18650)
Bottom Cap Only (18350), no telescopic tube

  • 2/11/13 – Even more from Innokin:

Bottom cap color didn’t match SVD body , SVD body is stainless steel material , bottom (-) cap is copper with plating chrome, engineer say copper materiel more connection electricity/ electric conduction.

I also don’t like my SVD inner tube many threads , we will going to reduce threads , so can take off telescopic tubes easier .

we also will going to make inner thread more smooth and precise , when screw and not wiggle

about + – button , we will think about change position , I will follow and talk to engineer about this issue , although can not be same as Vamo or Lavatube , but we need make easy use

we will listen your advice , maintain quality of iClear30

sum up , thanks for your everything , I am sure we will make nice job for production version .

  •  2/18/13 – iTaste SVD starter kit retail price in U.S. will be USD$99.99

THE EVIC REVIEW

A PBusardo Review – The eVic

Vendor Link: Ovale USA
After market caps: HighEndSmoke

I took some quick measurements with the eVic and the 1.1 firmware release. Here is what I came up with:

  • 1.6 Ohm, Max setting of 11 Watts = 2.622 Amps (should = 4.195V, delivers ≈ 4.05V
  • 2.1 Ohm, Max setting of 11 Watts = 2.289 Amps (should = 4.806V, delivers ≈ 4.7V)
  • 3.0 Ohm, Max setting of 8.3 Watts = 1.663 Amps (should = 4.99V, delivers ≈ 4.8V)

Some confusion here for sure.

It’s maximum wattage setting for the 1.6 Ohm and the 2.1 Ohm was 11 watts. This gives the device a maximum output of 2.622 Amps, YET, the maximum wattage setting for the 3.0Ohm was 8.3 watts which is only 1.663 Amps.

Since it didn’t drive the 1.6 Ohm to 4.2V as it should have (only got to around 4.05V), it’s almost acting as if this device has an amp limit of around 2.5 Amps (as seen with the 1.6 Ohm) AND a voltage limit of 5V (as seen with the 3.0 Ohm).

So it looks like a limit of 2. 5 Amps or 5 Volts… whichever comes first! 🙂

Hmmm…

THE VAMO

A PBusardo Review – The Vamo

Vendor Link: SmokTek

Post Review Follow-up:

1/07/13 – Spring Issue:

Let me start off by saying this…

Attention Manufacturers… PROPER TESTING WILL AVOID SUCH ISSUES!

Thank you.

Ok, here’s the deal. The Vamo has a potential spring issue. The one I used in the review had, what I believe, was the original thin spring. Note that I did not, nor do I receive ANY heat from the bottom cap.

People were having issues with that spring (rattly batteries) so they replaced it with a beefier one. That spring may have an issue.

Is yours effected? I honestly don’t know. The post was found on Health Cabin relating to what they call the Bamboo which is a Vamo. Could the issue just be related to units purchased there? Again, I don’t know. I’m just passing along what I’ve heard.

This is one of the problems with all these versions and revisions coming out without proper in-lab, alpha, beta, and field testing and it really needs to stop. A properly tested and rock solid device should be far more important than rushing something to market.

So… if you are experiencing ANY heat from the bottom cap… STOP USING IT and contact your vendor regarding the issue. Here is the post as seen on Health Cabin…

Dear customers,
We are very sorry to inform you that we discontinue selling eGo Bamboo APV(Stainless/Chrome/Black Chrome) for a while because the big wide spring in the cap has big resistance, which makes the Bamboo cap very hot when Bamboo is working, especially when Bamboo works at a high Voltage or Wattage with a low resistance atomizer. We are working on new good springs with low resistances and expect to get new springs ready in some days.
We will resume selling the products and their caps when the new springs are ready.
If you have Bamboos with the wider big wrong springs, please stop using the products and contact us by ticket system.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
If you have any questions or need any assistance, please feel free to let us know by using Help Desk and submiting a ticket.
We look forward to always being able to serve you better.
