First comparative results about the direct effect of traditional cigarette and e-cigarette smoking on lung alveolocapillary membrane using dynamic ventilation scintigraphy

Conclusion
On the basis of our results, we suppose that e-cigarette smoking is less harmful to the lung function than a traditional cigarette, and it can be recommended to heavy smokers who are unable to stop smoking.

I love the use of the word “suppose”. I “suppose” it’s painful for some groups to put out positive studies and articles on vaping even when the facts and science support it.

THE 510 REPORT WITH GRIMM GREEN – Vapings Biggest Enemy PART1

Very rarely do I watch or share other reviewer’s videos. The reason is simple. I like to keep my ideas and perspective of products my own and I don’t like them influenced by what others have to say.

Although Nick is a fellow reviewer and someone I respect, I’ve decided to share his latest 510 Report video here.

First, Nick’s “510 Report” are not review videos, they are advocacy and news videos about vaping.

Second, this particular episode speaks to something I’ve always believed in and have shared on many occasions… Big Pharma is our biggest enemy and a powerful one they are.

So have a look at this video and see if you agree. I’ll post part 2 here when it is released as well.

Thanks for doing these Nick and I hope you continue your efforts in this space!

REASON TV: Stossel: Let Them Vape

Vaping may not be safe, but it’s a lot safer than cigarettes.

Our government says e-cigarettes and vaping are the latest “epidemic” among teens. So the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says it will restrict them. Cities across the country are banning e-cigarette use in public.

But e-cigarettes help smokers quit traditional cigarettes. Michelle Minton of the Competitive Enterprise Institute tells John Stossel that people have misconceptions about e-cigarettes. “It’s about 95 percent less harmful than a normal traditional cigarette,” she says.

That’s because e-cigarettes let people get a hit of nicotine without actually burning tobacco. The burning of paper and tobacco leaves is what makes cigarettes so dangerous.

Minton admits that the nicotine in e-cigarettes is addictive. But “on the spectrum of drugs that you can become addicted to, nicotine and caffeine are very similar to each other.”

The Surgeon General says there are other health risks to vaping: “Besides nicotine, e-cigarettes can contain harmful and potentially harmful ingredients.”

Despite the dangers, researchers seem to agree that e-cigarettes are substantially less dangerous than combustible cigarettes.

Other studies concluded that long-term e-cigarette use is “associated with substantially reduced levels of measured carcinogens and toxicants relative to cigarette-only smoking.”

Nevertheless, the FDA threatens to crack down to discourage kids from using e-cigarettes.

Minton says that is a bad idea: “Do we want children to become addicted to anything? No….But keeping a small percent of teenagers from trying e-cigarettes is not worth sacrificing adults whose lives could be saved.”
The views expressed in this video are solely those of John Stossel; his independent production company, Stossel Productions; and the people he interviews. The claims and opinions set forth in the video and accompanying text are not necessarily those of Reason.

Metal emissions from e-cigarettes: a risk assessment analysis of a recently-published study

Conclusion: EC liquids contain trace levels of metals. For almost all metals, unrealistically high levels of liquid need to be consumed in order for total daily exposure to exceed established limits.

Guest commentary: Potential public health benefit of vaping outweighs risks

Another well written article and a good read by my BFF who continues to impress me…

The debate around how to prevent underage youth from accessing vape products is an important one. Our organization strongly supports enforcement efforts to crackdown on illegal sales and punish bad actors. Vape products are for adult smokers— period.

But we must also preserve the consumer choice that people like me have relied on to quit smoking for good. It is a false dichotomy to claim we can’t have both.

E-cigarettes can be key weapon against smoking, say MPs

Rules around e-cigarettes should be relaxed so they can be more widely used and accepted in society, says a report by MPs.

Vaping is much less harmful than normal cigarettes and e-cigarettes should be made available on prescription to help more people quit smoking, it said.

The report also asks the government to consider their use on buses and trains.

There is no evidence e-cigarettes are a gateway into smoking for young people, Public Health England said.

The report on e-cigarettes, by the science and technology MPs’ committee, said they were too often overlooked by the NHS as a tool to help people stop smoking.

MARTIN DOCKRELL OF PUBLIC HEALTH ENGLAND ON THE LATEST E-CIG SCARE

So maybe you’ve heard about or read the latest e-cig scare. No? Well you can HERE if you like.

  • Maybe you heard Dimitris and I talk about this on the latest Smoker’s Show Episode.
  • Maybe you heard us say that if a study does not compare the “bad things” found in vaping to that of a cigarette we feel it’s invalid.
  • Maybe you heard us say that vaping is harm reduction not harm elimination.
  • Maybe you heard us discus the fact that if you don’t smoke and don’t vape, continue to do neither.

No?  You haven’t?  You haven’t heard us say any of this… or maybe you just don’t believe us?

Then perhaps you’ll listen to and believe Martin Dockrell of Public Health England. Because he says…

“Smoker’s who are thinking about switching should switch today without hesitation”

Did you read that correctly?

Let’s try that again…

“Smoker’s who are thinking about switching should switch today without hesitation”
