Take, for example, the case of Stanton Glantz, an influential professor at the University of California, San Francisco. For years, Glantz was known as an established and authoritative tobacco researcher, even bringing the university a five-year grant worth $20 million from the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institu<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">tes of Health in 2013 \u2014 a grant that he was reawarded in 2018. In the days before the grant was reawarded to Glantz, however, he paid $150,000 to settle a lawsuit filed against him by Eunice Neely, a former researcher in his lab. university investigation into the allegations found that Neely was not alone, discovering five other women who had experienced similar harassment from Glantz as far back as 2006.
