According to a report by parliament\u2019s planning and budget committee sent to Ahram Online, the new amendments are in line with Egypt\u2019s economic reform procedures, which aim to balance the public budget by keeping the targeted deficit rates. It also pointed out that the proliferation of electronic cigarettes has affected tax revenues negatively given that this kind of smoking had not been regulated, and that taxes will be imposed on e-cigarettes for the first time.
