The legislation purports to improve public health, but it actually would endanger the health of people who are trying to quit smoking. The bill prohibits retailers from selling tobacco or nicotine with a characterizing flavor. One of its obvious targets is\u00a0vaping. It\u2019s also wrong to ban adult-only products to keep them from teens. The state doesn\u2019t ban adult alcohol or cannabis sales based on a similar argument.
