But members believe more of the revenue from the taxes should go to health causes than the bill is written, so a vote was delayed to craft an amendment. <span style=\"color: #ff9900\"><strong>The legislation also would add a tax to eliquids containing nicotine. Under an amendment, it would be a 39% tax assessed at the wholesale level like cigarette taxes<\/strong><\/span>. But the cost would ultimately be borne by customers. Under <span style=\"color: #33cccc\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc\" href=\"http:\/\/iga.in.gov\/legislative\/2021\/bills\/house\/1434\/#document-ab6420f6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>House Bill 1434<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, most of the money from the new taxes \u2013 about 56% \u2013 would go to the state general fund for various uses.
