NEW IN THE QUEUE – 4/6/15 – THE YIHI SX-MINI M-CLASS

YIHI SX-MINI M-CLASS

Take a first look at the Yihi SX-Mini M-Class. This has the same 60 watts as the original SX-Mini, but now offers temp control.

Temp control works much like the DNA-40 by setting a temp limit. But unlike the DNA-40, you manually put the SX-Mini into temp control (Power&&Joule Menu setting set to Joule), you manually synch and lock in the resistance of your attached atty by pressing and holding the up and down button until your resistance is displayed (once again both the device and the attached atty need to be at matching room temperatures), and then you adjust via Joules not Watts. Is this Yihi trying to be different? Trying to be better? Trying to confuse us? Or trying to avoid patent infringement. Hmmm…

It appears that they addressed all my ergonomic issues including a fire button with more rounded sides and a outer shell that does cut into the hand as much due to a slight bevel. It really does feel better in the hand.

I do like outer casing finish of the original more though.

Don’t expect a review on this right away, but know that testing has begun.

In the photos below, the new M-Class is the one to the left. The original is shown to the right for comparison.
